The last stable version is 1.1.4--not on your list :-) --, and 1.1.5
is supposed to be its last upgrade before the 2.0 series is officially
released. 1.1.5 is in the release candidate stage (RC) for the moment.
The 2.0 series uses a new file format which is not compatible with the
1.1 series as it has been released so far; 1.1.5 is already designed to
read the format, so it serves as a "stable intermediary stage" between
the two (plus some bug fixes, if I remember right).
1.9.95 is indeed a 2.0 beta; I'm not in the development team, but I
suppose they name the 2.0 beta versions 1.9.x, so they can reserve "2.0"
for the final release.

The version I'm running opens with a screen saying it's "Version
2.0Beta", The 'Help' says it is Version 1.9.95, and today I get an
e-mail informing me that Version 1.1.5rc has been released that will
include filters for files created with 2.0 and 1.9.x.
Just which version should a user be using? Is this going to be like
BASIC and other programs that had mutiple versions - none of which were
compatable with the others?
Thanks Horst - Guess I'll stay with the 1.9.95 while the rest of the
world catches up. Hate to have to learn things all over again. (:>
I do not desire to disuade you from using 1.9.95, but there are certain
bugs in the developer releases. I have had some nasty problems with
respect to outline numbering, for example. So, Be very careful with your
"production" documents and try to rely on it for non-critical documents.
I do all of my critical stuff with 1.1.4, and my non-critical stuff with
the latest beta 1.9.121. Then, I can not complain too horribly when it
does things that I do not like with my documents.
