Hi Meeker, Under Tools - Options - OpenOffice.org Impress you may find few settings under which you have one option called grid, probally making some setting chages there shoud work for. I remember facing the same problem, unchecking "Snap to grid" worked for me. Might be true in your case too. Try that out.
