Hi again Charles I don't claim to be a "power user", but I cannot persuade Calc to autocomplete on Text input. I tried both 1.1.4 and 1.9.122, and just in case it affected things, I opened a writer document with some words which I knew would autocomplete in writer, and they did not offer to complete in the corresponding calc document Sorry if I'm teaching Grandma to suck eggs, but are you confusing this with the changes engendered by the cell format? Sometimes, eg if you put in 1/3 the program will assume this represents a date and change to 1/3/05 for example. This can be changed by setting the format of the cell, eg to text. About the best I can offer, I am afraid, perhaps there is a spreadsheet guru who can help you more.
