Dear Open Office representatives: I have been using Open Office 1.1.2 since I bought my computer last April and would like to know how I can update it. I have put your site on my Favorites list. I had several problems in the beginning with this program such as: Spell check would get stuck. The other problem I have with this program is some things are put into my documents automatically and I don't like that. If I want numbers, bullets, etc., I want to put them in myself.
I use this program mostly for writing "God's Created Poetry" which I am trying to get published. On the poems, I wish there was a way to get straight to the floppy disk to save them and I had a permanent format for them with Courier New and 12 font. The other reason I use this program is for a children's book I'm working on called "A to Z Animal Stories". I have purchased a new Lexmark Printer/Copier/Scanner/ Fax from Walmart and I am able to erase the print on my animal sketches with this printer/scanner. Is Open Office 1.1.2 compatible with Microsoft Word and the other office programs that are out there? If there is any way you can help me, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you.
