Hi, thanks Gert and Rex for your answers.
I have to apologize, as I forgot to say that I was using a RDP connection to a Windows Terminal Server. The thing is that OpenOffice.org 1.1.4 over the same connection shows perfectly usable behavior, while version 1.9.22 was so slow, so I thought it was a bug in OOo2. I obviously was wrong. When running version 1.9.22 locally, the menus were normally fast. I also tried to find a difference in behavior when using and when not using Folder Redirection, as Rex suggested, but I couldn't, neither on a TS session (still slow), nor when running it locally (still fast). As a side note, running the TS session over the latest version of rdesktop from a Linux client is remarkably faster than running it over the latest official Microsoft client from a Windows box... So it looks like this means some TS tuning, if at all possible, since this is already a 100Mbit local network with a GBit connection to the server, but I still wonder why version 1.1.4 is faster than 1.9.22 in this case.
