Sounds like both of you are having a few problems using Numbering
styles. If you are unfamiliar with styles, then here is a resource:
http://documentation.openoffice.org. Use the User's Guide link. There
should be at least one chapter on styles for each version: 1.1.x and
2.0. Look in the Writer section of the version you have.
