One of the crucial usability features that OpenOffice lacks is the

This issue has been submitted several times in issuezilla, but has not
been given priority by the developers. This issue is, by far, the
biggest sticking point that I have found in getting clients to adopt
OpenOffice. The current method of opening up the advanced field
dialog and manually entering code to suppress blank lines caused by
empty fields basically makes this task impossible for most office
workers to perform.
Please help make this critical issue a priority to the OpenOffice
developers by voting for issue 36696.

vote for this issue. It is an essential usability feature that needs
to be included with OpenOffice 2.0.

An issue is an issue, that's for sure. I'm not yet convinced that it is
"by far, the biggest sticking point that I have found in getting clients
to adopt OpenOffice".
But thanks for the smile. Everybody thinks *their* issue is the
Earth-shatteringly all-important one that will bring OOo to the masses :)
