I took a vacation the first two weeks of July. I unsubscribed from
the list in late June and resubscribed the middle of July.
One thing that I did notice was the length of time it took for the
mailing list to send me the confirmation email: a couple of days.
What I did was to send an email with only the address in it (No
subject, and no body). When I finally got the confirmation email, I
clicked Reply and sent it back as is. (I added absolutely nothing to
the email.)

Same results for me: successfully unsubscribed, but took several days to
get the confirmation e-mail. I followed the exact same procedures as Dan,
above. Other than the slight delay, the unsubscribe works as advertised.
