Hi,

I know that must sound stupid but I was creating a workout chart, yes
I know I should use the Spreadsheet but I'm used to creating a text
doc so that's what I want to do. So say I type this in:

Date: ______________ Time Start: ____________________ Day:
___________
_____________________________________________________________________
_

01)
__________________________________________________________________
_____________________________________________________________________
_

Now see how the recursive line below the 01) and how it is set a
space below it using the <Shift + _ > key? Well in OpenOffice if I
hit the Enter key to go down to the next line to type in the 02) it
takes that last line, bolds it, makes it unselectable and pushes it
right up under the 01) ___ line. I have to delete everything and
start over.

I finally got it to work but on the second line I had to add a | line
on that extra line below at the beginning of the line to get that
action that usually follows to not kick in. The doc looks fine with
the extra

| on each of the extra lines (used for notes for that particular

exercise) but I would prefer to not have it there at all!!

Can someone please explain what's going on? I do not have this issue
in ANY other text program and I DON'T like OO doing this and would
like this feature turned off. I've looked all through the Options but
I can't locate what it would be.

Thanks much

Richard ;-)~

What OOo had done is to use that recursive line to create a bottom border. One was to stop this from happening is to make your recursive line and add a space before hitting <Enter>. To remove this bottom border, move the mouse cursor to the line just above the border. Format > Paragraph >Border (tab). Under Line Style, click None. Then click OK.
