In powerpoint, there are "buttons" to increase or decrease font size for selected text. I typically add these to the main toolbar as I tend to do this a lot.
It is a cute function that accepts multiple fonts (different or same lines) and effectively increments/decrements each font (differences are maintained). In other words, a bullet and sub-bullet with diffent font sizes would both increase or decrease one size. All I have been able to find in Impress is the ability to select text and use the context/font size pull down menus - but this is more "strokes" than the simple make it bigger/smaller button, and makes all selected text the same size. I saw the comment about defining fonts in styles relative in the help file, that isn't what I mean. Th intention is to only change the selected text, and multiple fonts/sizes at the same time. I didn't see anything like this in the knowledge base at mindmeld.cybersite.com.au I'm using 1.9.122.
