Ave,
Have you ever tried to use Kword for serious work in this area? [...]
I have used the procedure, opening in KWord, numerous times, putting
the ultimate file onto OO. The only time I've pad problems with it is
when the original PDF is in two or more columns.
I can believe that. Fortunately, I haven't yet, nor do I foresee a need
to, work with anything that has graphics. If I desperately need to do
something in columns, which I know doesn't work, my procedure would
probably be to print out the PDF, scan it column by column, and save it
as text.
And of course, if I were to have to scan and convert something done in
Cyrillic, for instance, I would have to go digging onto the Internet and
see if I could come up with something that will allow my paleolithic
scanner to do OCR beyond purely Latin fonts.
