Thanks,
I downloaded flash media player and exported my presentation into that format and yes,
I could play it firefox.

However, I also noted that in the older version of OO 1.4x (put it on an older machine !!!!)
the option is there to save as a pps file.

So, on OO2 I simply did a "save as" and manually inserted the pps extension and it worked !!!!

Maybe if the development team monitor this they could but a ".pps" dialog box in the "file save as" format ? Looks like the software has this function inbuild, just no pointer to it ?

I look forward to any comments on this,

Thanks again for all the help,

Cheers

First, thanks for the reply, Keith.

When I go to save my preso I have a number of options with the file
types, namely .sxi, sti, ppt etc but I cannot see anywhere on the "save
as" menu an equivalent of pps.

So, the question remains, assuming multiple users have access to my
file, how can I "lock it up" so that they may view it but not alter
it.

Thanks again for your help,

Rob

If you want to "lock up" the file so that no alterations are possible, export it as a Macromedia Flash file. This has been possible with the last several versions of OOo.

G'day Robert,

Yes

But my experience is that you can alter the file in PPoint - in fact
I have found .pps easier to transfer to PPoint than are .PPT

Hi Folks,

I am a newbie to Open Office and just starting to use Impress.

So far, so good but I am a bit puzzled with the file formats with
Impress.

Is it possible to save an Impress file with the equivalent of MS
Office "pps" format so the presentation comes straight up without
the edit windows and nobody can then alter the presentation
without access to the original file?

Many Thanks,

Regards
