Sounds like you entering characters in the Latin sub-range, and not
Cyrillic sub-range.

Unfortunately, the website seems to show nothing specific on Cyrillic.
The fellow says he has various fonts enabled, but does not explain how.
BTW, I forgot to mention in my first post that I am using OOo 1.1.4, on
Mandrake 10.0.
