First I would like to thank the list members who responded to my
question about download time.
I am finding that Open Office is more than I really need - I'd be happy
with a simple (adequate for home use) word processor, spreadsheet, and
database. Be that as it may....
I started a spreadsheet the other day but quickly ran into problems.
First, though I prowled through all the configuration areas I could
find, the spreadsheet will allow me to only use Fixedsys in one cell
before it reverts to Arial.
Second, I'm trying to do a simple expenses spreadsheet with multiple
categories and a total column. I've looked in the "help" index and can't
find anything on the "very difficult" formula C2=D2+E2+F2+G2+H2+I2.
Then, how do I copy that formula to rows 3, 4, etc.?
I also want to add columns and copy that formula to columns C, D, etc.
Everything I've tried ends up as cell contents rather than as a formula.
I've also had a problem with trying to use currency but it insists upon
dropping unnecessary (HA!) zeros to the right of the decimal point.
OK, it's been a .long. time since I've used Lotus and I've forgotten
most of what I knew about it even assuming Open Office uses the same
formats.
Is there a section of the help file that covers really simple, basic
information?
Thank you.
