No worries on the questions. When replying it is best to include [email protected] - this will ensure that if someone else has a similar problem that they will also be informed of the solution. It also means that when you ask a question, many people will see it and then be able to respond.
The responses you get back are either legite responses from people or over zealous spam protection (the later you can disregard). I found initially the digest version of this mailing list was the best. It meant that you got all the emails but not as single emails. Approximately 10-20 emails are all bundled together then sent as one.
