I would be glad to, under one condition: what I meant when I said that all you 
need is a text editor is that I take the "share/kde/net" directory (from 
OpenOffice.org 1.1.5) and edit the .directory file and the *.desktop files to 
point to the correct icon location.  Not very elegant, but it works :)  If 
you think people would like this information (considering how ugly a 
workaround this is) I would be glad to oblige.

This should help you decide if this is appropriate for the Setup Guide.  
Knowing me, I may very well come up with a more efficient way to do this as I 
try to write it more clearly for others to understand :)
