well, it seems that for writer fontwork is back - draw some object and
look into "format->object->fontwork".
the strange thing is, i can't find similar entry in draw.
given that it was commented that fontwork has reached end-of-life, i'm
pretty confused. i really like fontwork and it is one of things that i
show to ms office users as an example of things mso can not do, but i
have no ida wther it will be supported or not ?

Fontworks is the only way to correctly enter, and edit text for half a
dozen languages.
Fortunately, Fontworks is still available. If you go to Tools >
Configure, you can add to a menu or a tool bar.
It's not the only useful tool that's hidden away there. For example, the
1.x mail merge tool is also available; it's much more flexible than the
beta's mail merge wizard.
