Yes, I tried a mailmerge because it is the way to do it with Word. There is the possibility to make a catalogue in serial printing. The problem with mailing labels is that they all have the same size but the descriptions of the medias have different sizes. I don't want a database report. What I want is a more or less nice looking catalogue for our users. I added a sample page to this mail. I'm working for a German 'Medienzentrum' (media centre). We lend films, videos, DVDs and other media for schools to teachers and other persons. Most users use online catalogues but some prefere a printed one. I already have a printed one made with Word using serial printing fiels. But I'd like to find a solution with openoffice. At the moment I think there isn't an easy solution for that. So I have to write a macro? Or would it be something for a feature request. Because maybe it isn't so different from serial letters. They use a new page for each copy of the letter in a catalog a new page isn't necessary just append the next block with the next data record. arnold
