Thanks, John. I downloaded Windows Installer CleanUp. I downloaded and extracted another copy of OO 1.1.3 into the 'All Programs' folder. I ran the exe. and chose the deinstall option during install. A few steps later I was rid of 1.1.3 (after also removing its folder in 'All Programs). I'm much obliged! MS has developed a program to help uninstall "unclean" files (ones that didn't/don't uninstall well). They publish information about it on their KnowledgeBase. It is called the "Windows Installer CleanUp Utility" I got stuck after installing too many versions of openoffice (I'm a gluton for punishment) ignoring partial un-installs and taking half measures to fix it. It worked for me.
