Look up "conditional formatting" in the Help. That should do just the
trick you want.

I'm almost there, I think.
I have this:
|date of last use|title|use number| formula to determine usability|
However, it seems that conditional formatting only works on the cell
with the formula in it. I need to change the background color of the
"date of last use" cell based on the results in the "formula to
determine usability" cell.
Can this be done?
