Thanks to both you and G. Roderick for the responses - makes much more sense now. I even got a reply to a question I had not asked yet (what does "moderated" mean in Subject line?). I originally assumed it meant a forum/list moderator had stepped in because a topic was mis-titled, someone got nasty, etc. but the "moderated" threads did not support that.

Out of curiosity, on the "moderated" posts - where do they originate? If it's from someone not on the list, are they sending the messages to support@, help@, info@ variations of openoffice.org? And then someone forwards/copies them to the list?

And if a discussion ensues with "moderated" in the subject line, does that mean the original poster misses out on the discussion?
