absolutely -- you may want to keep an eye on fonts -- mac
users often have
a "different" font set from windows users but that should

take a look at neooffice.org for a much more mac like
version that will not require you to install x11 on your
mac
Hi.
A little off topic perhaps buy you can pick up a good
computer running Linux or Windows for around $500. All the
mac idiosyncrasies disappear and you can run up to date
software out of the box for a lot less outlay. You only
need one in your network to convince even the hardest Jobs
followers!
Just a thought. Steve.
But Mac users have chosen Macs for a reason. Many have experienced the
pains of Windows enough to avoid that line at all costs, even if you can
get a cheap computer. Of course some just choose Linux because it keeps
on working and working. This is my wifes choice. :) She has a Mac
laptop for work. Using Windows from time to time. Linux at home. She
is getting a new laptop that as she puts it will be "Linux Only".
The company she works for uses OpenOffice after she showed them how well
it worked and the great savings on all the new Macs that the company was
purchasing. I do agree that the font issue is a pain at first but can
be fixed by someone that can do more than follow the crowd. :)
