1. choose "Text CSV" in file open dialog as file type;
2. rename the file to have the extension .csv

a assume that the file is .txt and it opens in writer instead of calc

Hi All,

This is a question about Calc. We use numerical codes extensively and one
of the features of M$ Office is that I can import the raw output from our
calculations into Excel and extract the data. Every time I try and do this
with OO.o the file is opened as a text file. Is there any way to import the
files into Calc in a similar way to Excel? Basically, the filter in Excel
asks whether the file is delimited or fixed width, what the spacers are etc.
Is there a filter I can get for OO.o that does the same thing? If not, is
anyone working on one? (I'd offer to help, but I can't even code hello.c
without the book open in front of me... :-( )

TIA

Andy
