what would be the best way to create documents with a4 paper size and
print them as booklets on a3 ?
is this possible at all ?
the original document consists of a4 paper size pages, it is printed on
a3 paper as a booklet so that size of the resulting pages is a4.
i tried brochure printing, but it sort of prints four pages per real
page, but i would like only two of them...
That doesn't sound as if you are really using the brochure feature.
Brochure prints documents such that the first sheet printed will have
the Title page and the last page of the document (perhaps even a blank
page inserted) and page two and the second last page on the obverse et
cetera. What you describe appears to me to be the output from Print
preview.
Perhaps getting a copy of
http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/OOo1.x.x/user_guide.pdf
Right. There is no index. Indexing is a special skill that evades me.
However I believe that TOC is reasonable. Since you are having
difficulty, see page iv of the TOC and/or page 26 of the manual for
starters. Remember you can also search the PDF.
Now if you are an indexer, we could sure use your help.
Don't I wish!!! I have several documents that could benefit
greatly from having an index.
or Help > Contents > Index > Search term > brochures; text printing will
help you sort out what you are doing wrong.
My copy of this document says that the index has been removed.
That makes it a little difficult to find some things.
Not necessarily especially when Help > Contents > Index > Search term >
brochures; text printing is pointing you at Help.
I tried searching the pdf file for "brochure" and got zero hits.
However, I also have the .sxw file, so I loaded that up and did
the same search which did find the section.
