As you've discovered, one practical way to "fix" them is indeed to get
the complainer unsubcribed. But that user may be naive or stuck with a
stoopid ISP, so as the nature of this help community and tool is to

first (and only three) folks I tried to fix this with wouldn't answer
any email about their problem.
So I have given up and gone with the instant hack of a gmail filter
that delivers all mail from that system's postmaster (or which ever
email address that is sent, in this case, [EMAIL PROTECTED]
directly to the trash.
This doesn't really fix the problem, but as I never see the email
twice anymore (one whine gets a new filter), they don't bother me
anymore. I don't expect any "apologies" from those postmasters
anyways, so I'm not too worried about throwing that junk mail away.

Well, it's not the sender and it's not the list. That leaves
something
between the list manager and your PC.
