I found sel and hyp, but only by a devious route: Go to the help
function and click on find and then search on either "sel" or "hyp" AS
WHOLE WORDS. This gets you to a discussion of the status bar that I
could not find any other way to go to.
(sel and hyp is toggling between 2 modes of handling hyper links---one
to edit, and one to make them active)
"*" means you need to save your working file---I figured this out by
accident. Open a new document and you will see the * trun on as soon as
you enter something. Save and it goes away.
