I'm trying out OOo 2.0 beta2 Calc as replacement for MS Excel I'm having difficulty inserting a column or row when there is a Merged Cell anywhere along the same row or column. I've tried the same on my old MS Excel, no problem with inserting column or row even in the presence of merge cells.
