Additional to my earlier message:
I just tried out another method for printing envelopes:
When you just want to send one letter to someone and print the envelope,
this also is easy to do.
I have a model letter that I use. I positioned the cursor in the
beginning of that letter and then choose Insert -> Envelope
It inserted then an envelope before my document. The first try to print
this was not a success: the letter was printed on an A4 sheet instead of
in the form of an envelope. I then looked to the styles of the envelope
and the letter. For both it was A4, which was the problem. I changed the
page style of the envelope to ... envelope (and adjusted dimensions and
margins), and the page style of the second page (the letter) I left to A4.
Now the envelope prints as an envelope, and my letter as a letter on a
regular A4 sheet.
Next thing for me to do now is inserting fields so that I have to enter
the address only ones, and then I have a template for a letter with his
envelope. You could do this taking the address from a database or a calc
sheet to, of coarse.
Kind regards,
Freddy

I've given up on printing envelopes the "normal" way with OO 1.1.5 and XP.
My procedure was this:
1. Set my Konica Minolta laser printer paper to #10 envelope.
2. Use the Insert function in OO to format the envelope. It looks fine on
the screen.
3. The envelope prints on the side edge of an 8.5 X 11.00 sheet ( used for
testing ) instead of down the middle. My printer will only feed down the
middle.
I found a few how-to articles on the web which didn't give me any new
insights.
I did find a way around it. I created a one page document with the same
paper size as a #10 envelope. I made a frame for the return address with my
name in it, and protected it. I made another frame for the recipient's
address and left it editable. When I print this document narrow end first, I
get a properly formatted envelope. I saved this letter sized-document and,
any time I need an envelope, I just change the recipient's name and print
it. So my printer is physically able to do it, it's the procedure in OO that
doesn't format envelopes correctly.
Has anyone had success printing envelopes? Am I missing something?
