I installed OOo 2.0RC1 from a tar file, it untarred in several .rpm
files. I then used alien to convert du deb files, and installed it using
dpkg. (see man files for exact usage of alien and dpkg) I use Debian
sarge. Hope this helps.
PS: it took about 10 minutes to download and install. It worked
perfectly and had copied al my setting from 1.1.4
Kind regards,
Freddy

Hi
This is a somewhat basic question but I didn't find anything about it in
the archive.
I read some threads dealing with this topic of installing OOo on Linux
without RPM but I didn't find a statement about the release version,
whether it will have a version 1.x-style installer. Is there a chance to
have such an installer as I know of version 1.x? (And if yes, wouldn't
it be time to test this also?)
I guess for now, I have to get this rpm2cpio tool.
Thanks,
Andreas
