Hi Me and lot of other people are experiencing problems finding localized builds and language packs, although they DO EXIST!
For example on the download page for click "non-javascript download page" you get to http://download.openoffice.org/2.0.0rc/index-nojs.html where there are links to the mirrors. Another list is http://distribution.openoffice.org/mirrors/#mirrors But lots of them are not updated. Note that some mirrors do not carry all builds (language/OS), so you might surf around to find what you want. If you can handle torrents that might both be fast download and offloads OOo servers. I found torrents for localized OOo2RC here: http://borft.student.utwente.nl:6969/ It is amazing how quick Google indexes the world, and you can get what OOo file you want if you know the file name. For example 2.0RC1 swedish on MSWindows is called OOo_2.0.0rc1_050923_Win32Intel_install_sv.exe Language packs can be used to add interface languages to the program. Here i found them, but only for Linux. http://oootranslation.services.openoffice.org/pub/OpenOffice.org/2.0.0rc1/ BUT Where are the ones for MSWin? Using Torrents, the file is checked during download (IIRC) Using other method, you may check integrity by MD5 http://download.openoffice.org/1.1.5/md5sums.html About installing: For Win32: Running the program, it will first ask you to select where to unpack the files (this is not the palce it will be installed to) If you want a chance to choose install directory you must choose custom install To install localized spell-checker In OOo 2.0 menu: File -> Wizards -> Dictionaries For converting all OOo1.x documents to the new: In OOo 2.0 menu: File -> Wizards -> Document converter... (I am not quite sure about menu naming as i use swedish) I use OO0 2 for production since about a half year! /Morgan -- Morgan Olsson, Kivik, Sweden --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
