Rally, If you look below I have actually already identified the issue number, but no worries I can identify it again. The issue number is 53184. I've had it out there for awhile.
Robert >>> Rally de Leon <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 10/11/05 9:52 AM >>> Robert, How about reporting that as a bug to OOo? Send me the 'issue number' and I'll add a vote to it. I've tried posting this concern on the [user] group, nobody seems interested in the issue (or maybe nobody uses Win98 among the OOo testers). The only answer I read from a similar issue on old postings was 'Ask your administrator...' I have two PCs (on trial) with OOo 2.0beta or RC on Win98SE and both can't open files on network paths. But I have two computers with OOo 2.0 RC on Win2000, both have no problem opening and saving on Network paths. So I guess it's safe to say there is a compatibility issue with Win98SE, but I need another user to confirm it. I have not tried that on XP nor NT workstations. The only way to get around this limitation is to copy and paste said file to my workstation, edit with OOo, then copy back to networkpath. BTW, I receive emails from [email protected], but I can't see my message posted. Maybe I'm not officially listed at [email protected], that's why I dont get any answer on my inquiries. The message you probably received from me was the one I sent you directly. I need a favor: can you check if some of my messages (from [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the past weeks) were gettting through the mailing list? Thanks.
