By macro interface, I mean the ability to access any component of the
spreadsheet via Basic macros in a relatively painless manner. I do
believe a macro needs to be written to mirror the Excel functionality
in this instance. Unfortunately, of all aspects of spreadsheet
programming, charting is one of my weak areas at the moment (next to
pivot tables)

When you say you want the legend/data table displayed - do you mean in
a popup dialog/message box or in some area of the spreadsheet. Keep in
mind, the original data is there somewhere already - it's a case of
just pointing to it.
