    OOo 2.0 RC1 with the Slide pane visable and the Task pane not:
You can move from one slide to the next clicking the slide you want in 
the Slide pane.

     Same setup for OOo 2.0 RC1:
The slide is visiable at the top, and the note section is below it. So 
both are visable. Change the text size as follows:
1) While you have the *.ppt open in OOo, use the F11 key to open the 
Styles and Formating Window.
2) The second icon from the left is the Presentations Styles. (You need 
extended tips checked [ticked] to see the name. Tools > Options > 
OpenOffice.org > General.) Click the Presentation Styles icon.
3) Right click Notes.
4) Select Modify.
5) Using the Font tab, change the size of the font for your notes until 
it is large enough for you to read easily. (I use size 26.)
