Found the article!

So the only thing I haven't yet found is how to use styles to create a
custom bullet... but maybe once I read the above article I will.
Thanks anyway ;-)

Hi all I figured out how to correct the problem with the funky square.
I used:
Tools>Options
Fonts
(checked) "apply replacement tables"
In the Font box I typed /starsymbol
/and selected Tahoma for the "replace with"
I used Tahoma because I liked the default bullet better with that font
then the one that it used with the symbol font.
Just thought I'd share my solution :o)

Happy Birthday OOo~
I have just installed OOo 2 RC and have an issue with bullets. I've
spent the last hour+ searching around and I can't find anything on
the issue for this version. I did find something suggesting I didn't
have a Starsymbol font. My default bullet is a funky square, like the
square that shows up when you don't have a font or in the character
font list for a blank key, so that sounded right, but I couldn't find
anything else on the missing font. So can someone point in the right
direction? And/or point me in the direction to learn how to use
styles for bullets... and speaking of styles.
I had found an article on applying fonts written I think in 2004 that
explained how to use styles step by step. The author wrote this up
after he had wrote an article about using OOo. I know this is a wiggy
request but maybe someone out there in user land knows what I'm
talking about. I lost my HD and I hadn't backed up my bookmarks :o\
TIA!
