Thanks CP, ITMT I found the solution to *all* problems to be upgrading my JRE from 1.4 to 5.0 (1.5). It seems that the pre RC snapshots were quite happy with JRE 1.4, but the RCs are not.
A - Can this be correct? and B - If it is, it might be could idea to include a quite forceful statement about this with the final release.
