I have been using Corel Word Perfect so far. I would like to switch to Open Office, but when I open my Word Perfect files with the not stable Open Office 2 version it doesn't show any graphics within the Word Perfect file - only text.

- the preview on files - where you can have a look on the content of a file without the need to open it
- the function to insert a paragraph directly with a klick of a key
- the possibility to determine a standard file folder. When I start Open Office
2 at the moment it always opens in the file folder where I was last.
Maybe I just don't know yet how to do this. It would be great it you could help
me with this or tell me whether these functions will be installed or not in the
final version of Open Office 2.

WP graphics may be proprietary and thus a problem. Proprietary file
formats are hard to support as they need to be reversed engineered and
this is not easy.
You may have to convert the graphics into a more open format such as jpg.
I say this after having to convert a CD worth of Corel drawings to
something that could be edited without Corel Draw.
Star Office may work better as they have some licensed filters.
