I know nothing about sun machines/OS, but I'm going to guess that they
are similar to linux/unix in there file permissions. It does seem that
everything is installed, but since it works under root, but not user,
it must be _something_ to do with priviliges.

If you've checked the install instructions again to make sure
everything was done as it was written, then possibly could it be one
of the following :
- including each of the users into the 'wheel'/'root' group (if
Solaris has a concept)
 -change the permissions of the install dir (and associated files) to
explicity include the users groups

Failing that, lodge a bug report and the developers will feret out the
code and have a look to see what is happening.
