Thank you for the info on no page breaks, using a web page layout. I
know this can be done this way. I know templates can be constructed,
which I did for text.
However, when writing 400 pgs or so of a novel and needing headers, etc.
only for a final printout, a much easier way would be to use draft and
page on the menu, providing a long roll of paper for 20 pgs or so. Draft
would not include pg numbers. I am aware of templates, etc. But my
suggestion is to include draft and page options on the menu for easier
shifting between rough copy and printing for submittal. Writing in one
format and saving back and forth is not good for large projects.
I am a novelist and do my own promo work, including website, blog,
bookmarks for online printing, spreadsheet/taxes, etc., and find Open
Office to be really good. I do have the high priced graphics programs,
Word, WordPerfect, Microsoft, yada yada, but I may switch all of my work
to OO, which means bringing some work from WP into OO. OO's programs
are really, really good and I've been doing this stuff since the first
Apples, investing $$ into updates, software, etc. Totally awful
amounts. So OO is really a blessing to those who haven't paid their
earnings out in software. I am now using as many open source programs as
possible.
My suggestion is to add draft and page options to the text menu. That
is my only problem with OO, and not a big one.
