I wouldn't have thought to look in a setup guide for installation
instructions. But between that and the script above, I got it to install.
Nothing showed up in the GUI menus, but that might be because I'm running a
very bare Debian Sid, without Gnome. Anyway, it complained about not
finding a Java runtime, even though the debs for it are installed. But I
got writer to start up, and began messing around with it. At least I can
start to train, while waiting for the regular debs with the right
dependencies to filter through into the Debian repository.
So, thanks, guys.
Now back to my regular problem. How the heck to draw graphics in a
Page Style, so they're located on the page background outside the text
column, and show up in the same place on every body page that uses that
style. No clues found in the manual, so far.
