Hi Jack,

if I understand correctly you don't want to buy Java Runtime Environment. You don't have to.

Here (http://java.com/en/download/windows_xpi.jsp) you can download JRE 5.0 for free.

I was about to install version 2.0 under Windows XP SP2 (no Java Runtime) after a few months work converting my macro from Excel to Calc under 1.9.95. In spite of the work it was kind of a fun if, not always, successful exercise.

Now I find those macros wont run under 2.0 unless I install Sun's Java Runtime Environment. Frankly, I don't need to spend any the money right now.

I think, from what I read, the same in true for BASE also. What a bummer!

Is there a subset of Java RTE that will allow me to run my macros without spending more money?

Thank you.
