I know I'm being thick here, but please bear with me.

I've just started playing with Base.

I defined a table then used the form wizard to create a form. For
some reason, although I clicked the add all fields button, it left
one field off- a graphic field.

I am trying to add the field to the form and it simply won't let me!

I have tried using the form navigator and the Add Field box but they
don't do what I want them to.

I've tried double clicking, drag and drop, holding shift and drag-
drop and every combination I can think of. The way I understand it,
the dragging from the Add Field box is supposed to leave the field
on the form, but as soon as I let go of the mouse button, the Add
field box goes blank until I select an existing field.

So how can I get my graphic field onto my form?

Any suggestions will be gratefully received!

Image fields are specifically NOT added using the wizard, at least
this is what I noticed. I have started documenting some of these
things while trying to decide if I should write another OOo book :-)

The list is a bit lengthy and I have some pictures and such. I will email you a small document directly that I created just for you. If there is any call for it, then I will post it on my web site...

Thanks Andrew, your document is a brilliant "How To!"

I had missed the "More Controls" icon.

BTW I think the terminology in the form editing functions is a bit
difficult and even intimidating for your average user with little or no
programming ability.

Well worth posting on your web-site as I'm sure that others will need
help with this.
At the moment I am working through this figuring out how to store Images into a Database and then extracting them again using macros. I finally figured it out today, now I just need time to document this. I will probably exand this to demonstrate how to save and then retreive say an OOo document directly into and outof a database. I am glad that this helped.
