I can confirm the same here on Debian/testing (with OOo packages from
unstable) -- only MOZILLA_CERTIFICATE_FOLDER environment is able to
persuade OOo that I have certificates in Thunderbird (as well as in Firefox
for this matter), but it ALWAYS crashes when I try to sign a document with
it (tried three times -- fortunately, I can confirm that recovery works
well :-).
