The answer depends in part on your operating system. If, like many of
us, you are stuck with "Windoze", a simple reboot of the computer will
often solve mysterious problems such as yours. The reasons for this
behavior are equally mysterious. Some blame incompetence on the part of
Micro$oft programmers, others rely on conspiracy theories. You have
your choice of these and more.
