Thanks for the update. BTW, I have FC3 and I am gonna install Ubuntu-5.10. I would be thankful if you could advise me on that as well in the same context. I repost my earlier query here: According to the setup guide you can use a prefix something to install in $HOME but still need to su to root as some files have to be installed in _default_ locations.
