Hi Dan,

It didnt work when I tried to open it using the word viewer. How do you
go about unzipping this file?

Thanks,
Krish.

Use Winzip, or in XP you can rename the file to whatever.zip and it'll treat it just like a zip file. OpenOffice.org docs are nothing more than a zip compressed file containing text docs and some sub directories.
I renamed a .odt to .zip and I was able to unzip it and found:
Files:
content.xml
layout-cache
meta.xml
mimetype
settings.xml
styles.xml
and the directories:
Configurations2
META-INF
Pictures
Thumbnails

Thanks for this very useful information. Surprising what you can learn on this list.
