Hi money,
Most likely, nothing has happened to your powerpoint
installation. If you downloaded and installed Open Office,
there would have been a dialogue asking if you wanted to
open microsoft files with OOo. If you checked those boxes,
OOo has been made the default program to open files with
ppt, doc and xls extensions. The icons that display next to
the filenames will have changed also. To undo this, you must
change the association of the extension back to powerpoint.
