To the folks on the list in general -- for non-techie users looking for a mac solution (and if you know what X11 is you qualify as techie) -- no "regular" mac user is going to give Open Office a second look with the hoops they have to go through to install (and print). While I think 2.0 is very cool, I think Neo Office is a much better solution for the average mac user. These are people who spent extra $$$ on their computer because easy of use was important to them.

While I am throwing my 2ยข in -- if someone needs to read a .odt document installing some flavor of Open Office is preferable to any of the export/import choices. My guess would be that the idea of Mum (slipped in one of them spare u's) reading this essay was to edit -- not for reading entertainment. Which rules out PDF and using an .doc or .rtf means doing two conversions -- pretty much ensuring formating issues.

running Word on a Mac OSX and I can't open it. I've tried every
application I have, but no luck. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
