Or you can also just rotate the text 90 degree (which is you refused to do). 
That way you'll have a consistent header and footer just like another pages. 
Computer works on a certain rules, so header means something on the TOP of 
the page and footer is on the BOTTOM of it. So this applies to portrait and 
landscape format.

If you really think that this feature is really something that is hot, you can 
always submit a Request for feature to the developers.
