I recently reported a similar problem, that .pdf exported from .odt are

But now that I think about it, it might be that .pdf exported from any
OO format UNDER LINUX (I use ubuntu exclusively now, but used to use Win
XP as well) are 4 or 5 times larger than those exported under Win XP. It
just happens that switching from .sxw to .odt coincided with exclusive
use of Linux.
And the answer is ..... ?
Do NOT use the icon on the toolbar to export as PDF. Use at least once
the menu File -> Export as PDF to set the parameters (mostly image
compression). After that, you can use safely the toolbar icon.
Experiment with the parameters to get the optimum size/image quality.

Hi,
I installed Openoffice on both my windows and linux Fedora 4 partitions.
It all runs smoothly. However, when I export documents in pdf format on
windows I get no problem and small resulting files, instead on Fedora I
get resulting files 4 times bigger.
Can you help me in detect the problem?
