Yup, it sure sounds like you have more than one email address. You
unsubscribe from an address that is NOT subscribed - which does nothing
toward actually unsubscribing the address that IS subscribed.
Check the "TO" field of your received emails, then check the "FROM" field of
your unsubscribe email. I think that you shall find a difference in the
two. ;-)
